👋 Hello, I'm Karen, currently based in Wellington, New Zealand.

I graduated as a Visual Communication designer in 2012, and my design journey has been quite the adventure. It all kicked off with me creating user interfaces for children during my internship days. Guiding young learners through educational games sparked my passion for crafting seamless and meaningful experiences. Right from the start, I made it my mission to champion the end user.

Over the years, I've mastered the delicate balance between user needs and business objectives. I've dedicated considerable time to helping entrepreneurs achieve their goals by tailoring websites to their audience's exact requirements, ultimately driving their business success.

Running my own design business was a turning point that pushed me to develop my leadership skills. Now, I'm all about empowering designers to reach their full potential. I've led numerous design projects, taught at design institutes, led design teams, and most recently, managed a top-notch team of digital product designers.

I'm constantly expanding my skillset through ongoing learning opportunities and take pleasure in sharing my knowledge with others to help them thrive.

Outside of work, I co-organise events for the UX Wellington community and keep in touch with my family in Chile and friends worldwide through regular video calls. I have a passion for travel, immersing myself in different cultures, and I must confess, I have a weakness for sweet popcorn.
